Magtype Computer Resources LLC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Magtype LLC, founded in 1986, which also owns Magtype Graphic Services (MGS). Magtype/CR was an outgrowth of the needs of MGS’ clients for computer support.
We provide hardware, software and network support for both Mac and PC platforms.

The MCR team consists of:

     Ryan Pokluda – Systems Engineer
     Tim McCloud – Systems Engineer/DB Manager
     Erik Shanabrough – Systems Engineer

Lurking "spyware" may be a security weak spot (NewScientist.com)
One in twenty computers with an internet connection may be harbouring unwanted "spyware" programs that can record a user's computer use, generate nuisance pop-up ads and may pose a security risk, suggests a US study.

So-called spyware normally piggybacks on to a computer with other "free" programs, such as some music or file-sharing software. PROTECT YOURSELF FROM E-MAIL VIRUSES
We are always hearing about new viruses attacking and infesting people's computers. The damage ranges from the the fairly benign to the completely destructive, but either way, you don't want it! Well, we want to remind everyone to remember these helpful ways of preventing your computer from being infected:

1. "Don't open e-mails from strangers." If you don't recognize the sender's name and/or the subject is ambiguous or doesn't relate to you

2. If you have received an e-mail with an attachment from a friend or co-worker without asking for one - CHECK WITH THEM BEFORE OPENING THE ATTACHMENT! Many viruses (including Bagle, Sobig & Bugbear viruses) are able to go right into your own e-mail program and steal e-mails from your address book and/or inbox. Then they use your own e-mail to pass themselves on to your friends & co-workers, fool them into opening the attachments and therefore perpetuate the virus. Better to take the time to confirm that your friend or co-worker is sending you something than to find yourself with any number of viruses on your computer.
